Recycled & Fair-trade Gold

Gold is durable, can be melted and shaped, and it's beautiful. All our jewellery is made of solid 18KT gold. One hundred percent of the gold we use is either recycled or acquired from fair trade sources, and comes with a certificate stating the same. The Fairtrade Gold Standard includes strict requirements on working conditions, health and safety, handling chemicals, women’s rights, child labour and protection of the environment including water sources and forests.

Conscious Diamonds

Apart from being conflict-free, each one of our gems are mined, cut and polished by adults working with fair compensation and with due care for the environment. In fact, a majority of our diamonds are sourced from Canada, where mining is regulated by the central and territorial government. These sites are audited regularly and certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. We trace the origins of each diamond we use, and larger diamonds come with a certificate of authentication.

Allergen Safe Gold

While pink and yellow gold are allergen free by their very nature, the making of white gold requires alloying with nickel. Nickel lends gold its characteristic white colour, while also providing strength and elasticity. It is estimated that about 15% of the world's women are allergic to nickel. At The Peacock, all our products are made with allergen safe alloys sourced from Italy. These alloys have a significantly reduced nickel content, well within the safe limits set by the European Union. These are the highest standards globally, and we think it's our responsibility to adopt and practice them.

100% Natural Stones

All our gemstones are 100% natural. We do not use artificial or lab grown gemstones or diamonds. All engagement rings with a central stone come with a GIA or IGI certificate. Every stone, even the one's which are certified, are assessed under a 10x loupe. This is the way stones have been appraised for years, and for good reason. With a trained eye, it's possible to notice subjective differences and choose the perfect piece. Every single stone, no matter how big or small, is also assessed to make sure it has a natural origin.
