You’ve decided to buy a Sapphire Ring. Kudos to you! It’s one of our favourites too. Sapphires are available in a wide array of colours, virtually every colour of the rainbow. But unlike diamonds, there’s no clear way to grade a Sapphire - there is no universally accepted, standard grading scale. And so, it can all get very confusing very quickly. But worry not, we’ve got you covered.

If you’re looking at buying one of our rings, let us tell you that we’ve done all the research that’s necessary, and chosen the best of what a Sapphire has to offer. All you need to do is visit our shop and figure out which design you like most. Or you could always get in touch with us for a custom design request.

But even if you’re choosing to buy your ring from elsewhere, here’s what you should keep in mind to pick the right stone.

Choose which colour you want your Sapphire rings in

When it comes to Sapphire Rings, colour is the most important factor. Sapphires are available in an infinite array of colours, with varying intensities. In order to make this decision easy, we’ve picked the best of the lot. So if you’re thinking of buying one of our designs, all you ned to do is choose between one of these colours:

All of our designs are made such that they go hand in hand with the colours we offer to you. You can rest assure each of these colours will look spectacular.

We insist on clear stones

It’s not unusual for Sapphires to showcase inclusions. Impurities that are visible to the naked eye are very common. That’s just the nature of the stone. Naked eye clear stones are rare, and valued highly. Where available, these high clarity stones are the ones we use in our Sapphire Rings. A clear stone allows for the lustre to shine through, and increases the vibrancy of the colours too.

Cut is paramount

Cut is extremely important to bringing out the lustre in sapphires. Typically, well-cut stones display better lustre and colour. If the stone has been strategically cut, it may display better clarity too. We’re very particular about the cut of the stones we use in your Sapphire Ring. We happily pay our supply chain extra for this feature. To read more about Sapphire Engagement Rings, checkout our Ultimate Guide.
